Another inmate has escaped from the Waterloo Residential Correctional Facility, according to the the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 26 year old Markez Fox failed to return to the facility on Friday and was placed on escape status. He was being held after committing crimes in Linn and Johnson Counties. In October of 2017 he was charged with Robbery in a case that involved a man being shot in the shoulder in Cedar Rapids. In December of that same year Fox was involved in a theft in Coralville in which a person was shot in the chest. Fox is described as a Black man standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 188 pounds. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact law enforcement.
