A Waterloo teenager has been arrested after being caught spray painting inside the Hotel President, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 18 year old Jaden Henson has been charged with second degree Criminal Mischief. He allegedly spray painted several locations inside the historic building, including the maintenance room and the roof. Staff allegedly found him huffing paint in a ninth floor utility room. The damage was estimated at more than $1,500. Henson told police he did it to let out anger. The Hotel President was built in 1929 as a luxury hotel. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017 and currently operates as senior housing.
