Authorities Want to Hold Sexual Predator Longer

A Waterloo man who was set to be released from prison last Thursday after serving time for Sexual Assault has been held as authorities attempt to have him committed as a sexually violent predator, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 58 year old Antonio Campbell has a mental defect that experts believe makes him likely to commit future sex crimes unless he receives treatment. Campbell was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 1985 after he found his ex-girlfriend with another man and threatened them with a weapon. He then made them perform sexual acts on each other before he raped the woman. Then in 2015, Campbell was again sentenced to 10 years in prison after he stalked another ex-girlfriend before breaking into her apartment and raping her at knife point.
