A former Bremer County Sheriff has passed away. Bill Westendorf, who served as Sheriff from 1973 to 2000, died at the age of 81. Prior to that he was a deputy from 1966 to 1973. His memorial services will be held on Friday at 11:00 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 at Kaiser Corson Funeral Home in Waverly.
