Mayor Reverses Halloween Switch

Cedar Falls Mayor Rob Green has announced that Cedar Falls will once again hold their trick or treating on October 31st after last year holding the event on Saturday night. Green says the response from parents, teachers, and students was very positive for the Saturday night event but the rest of the Cedar Valley is sticking with Halloween night. Green held discussions with other area mayors before deciding to switch back to Halloween. He says he foresees an increased public safety risk and burden in doing a Beggar’s Night on a different night than the rest of the Cedar Valley, but he also says he does not regret trying Saturday night.
