This area’s US congresswoman, Ashley Hinson, held her annual Barbeque Bash at Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids on Sunday afternoon. She spent most of her time speaking about the importance for her party, Republicans, to defeat incumbent President Joe Biden in 2024. Most of the Republican candidates for President spoke at the event including Asa Hutchinson, Doug Burgum, Larry Elder, Nikki Haley, Perry Johnson, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Ron DeSantis.
