911 Public Meetings

The Bremer County 911 Board has announced that they will hold a series of meetings with the public to discuss a potential communication system upgrade. They say that the current radio system used by local law enforcement, firefighters, EMS providers, and other agencies has become obsolete which they say may be placing users at risk. The meetings will discuss the need for an upgrade, details of the upgrade, funding sources of the upgrade, tax costs to the public, and will attempt to answer any questions the public may have. Meetings will be held in Denver on August 15th in City Hall, in Janesville on August 17th at the Riviera Roose, in Waverly on August 22nd at the Civic Center, in Sumner on August 24th in the SEMS building, in Tripoli on August 29th in City Hall, in Readlyn on August 31st however a location has not yet been selected, in Frederika on September 5th in the Community Building, and in Plainfield on September 7th in the Library Meeting Room. Each meeting will begin at 6:30pm.
