Propane Tank Exploded in Waterloo

A propane tank explosion damaged a deck and siding of a Waterloo home, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. A man at 752 Wildwood Road had just started a grill around 6:30 p.m. when the tank exploded. Waterloo Fire Battalion Chief Ben Petersen says the man’s quick thinking to contain the resulting fire with a garden hose until crews could respond limited the damage. The fire was ruled accidental. No structural damage was done. The man and his wife, who was inside the home at the time, were not injured in the explosion or fire.
