The Black Hawk County Board of Health has named a new Public Health Director. Kaitlin Emrich was already serving as the Interim Director after joining Black Hawk County Public Health in 2021 as Deputy Director. She has 14 years of experience in public health, 10 of which in managerial positions. She was previously a Public Health Epidemiologist and Assessment and Health Promotion Manager in Linn County. She holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Iowa and is a graduate of the Great Plains Public Health Leadership Institute. The Board of Health voted 5-0 to approve Emrich for the position. She will begin her new role on October 9th.
