If you heard a loud noise in Waverly on Friday afternoon, that was the Waterloo Bomb Squad safely disposing of a box of old blasting caps found in Waverly. A home owner located the blasting caps in their basement wrapped in newspapers dated in the 1960s. They were left there by previous owners of the home. The Waverly Police Department posted to their Facebook page alerting the public to the disposal of the blasting caps on Friday afternoon.
