Student Accused of Stealing, Possibly from Dance Marathon

A University of Northern Iowa student has been arrested for using a student organization credit card for personal purchases, according to KWWL. 22 year old Courtney Jarrett was arrested on Wednesday and charged with second degree Theft. She allegedly made 165 purchases for more than $7,000 between July and September. She also made 10 Venmo purchases for nearly $1,500. Investigators say the organization’s credit card was used to pay for clothes, books, airline tickets, and tickets to a White Sox game. The criminal complaint did not list which student organization was involved but Jarrett is an Executive Member of the UNI Dance Marathon Board.
