Brass Tap Owners Looking to Sell Building But Stay Open

The owners of the Brass Tap in downtown Cedar Falls say they are looking to sell their building but stay on as tenants, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Brothers James and Walter Burtis own the Brass Tap. They put the building up for sale for $1.2 million. They say this sale would allow them to open a second location in Waterloo along the Cedar River. They are in no hurry to sell, however. They say they are looking for the right buyer, who they would prefer to be local. Walter Burtis is coming off a failed, mostly self-funded, run for Cedar Falls Mayor.
