Man Arrested for Forged Lottery Tickets

An Independence man has been arrested for allegedly cashing forged lottery tickets at a Waterloo gas station, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 37 year old Jeremiah Sherwood is accused of attaching bogus faces to losing pull-tab tickets and redeeming them at the Prime Mart on Lafayette Street. The wins ranged from $20 to $100. Investigators with the Iowa Lottery Division determined the tickets were fake. Employees at the store identified Sherwood through a photo lineup. He has been charged with four counts of Lottery Fraud.
