The State Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the remains found at the Waterloo sewer treatment facility, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The nearly complete skeleton is that of Darin Lenton. He was 49 years old when he went missing more than two years ago. Police say his last phone call was made from the Riverview Recreation Area, which is adjacent to the treatment facility. Lenton’s remains were found in an outdoor concrete drainage pool that draws water from the Cedar River, meaning it is possible Lenton’s body entered from the river. The medical examiner could not determine a cause of death, although there were no signs of foul play. The investigation into Lenton’s death is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Waterloo Police.
