A road reconstruction project will soon begin again in Fairbank. The reconstruction of Iowa 281 is scheduled to resume on March 25th, weather permitting. The road work will necessitate the same marked detour route that was in place last year on Buchanan County Road C-57 as well as a local detour on East Main Street. Grove Street will be closed from 4th Street to the railroad crossing, which is the final stage of the total reconstruction. Asphalt pavement resurfacing will take place on West Main Street, but traffic will be maintained during that part of the project. Work is expected to be completed by June 1st.
