A Grundy Center man has been arrested after allegedly being found with heroin after a high speed chase in Cedar Falls, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Police spotted a Chevrolet Impala with an expired license plate that had been issued to another vehicle on Ridgeway Avenue around 1:30am last Thursday. When they attempted to pull the Impala over, the driver, later identified as 34 year old Clarence Hovenga, sped away. While on Sergeant Road speeds reached 115mph. As the chase entered Grundy County Hovenga lost control of his vehicle and came to rest in a ditch. Authorities allegedly found a pouch in Hovenga’s possession containing heroin and four syringes.
