The Cedar River is expected to crest in Cedar Falls Wednesday afternoon around 93.7 feet. There is some minor flooding in Cedar Falls, including Island Park and Tourist Park and parts of the North Cedar neighborhood. The Sturgis Falls Celebration begins on Friday, organizers do not believe they will be affected by the flood waters. The river crested last night in Janesville around 14.6 feet. The river crested well below the expected level in Waverly, topping out below the minor flood level. It was enough to cut off access to Southeast Waverly, however. Citizens who live there will be allowed back in before roads are opened to the public. Designated sandbag drop-off sites have been set up at the City of Waverly Parks Division and Southeast Elementary.
