Waverly Man Gets 30 Years in Prison for Child Porn

A Waverly man has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after being found in possession of a large amount of child pornography. 38 year old Jared Rigdon pled guilty to one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Child and one count of Distribution of Child Pornography. Rigdon admitted to using BitTorrent and Kik to download and distribute child pornography from around the world between January of 2022 and March of 2023. A forensic review of his electronic devices found over 120,000 images of child sexual abuse. The videos and images involved material that portrayed sadistic or masochistic conduct that included prepubescent children, infants, and toddlers. He must also serve five years of supervised release after his prison term comes to a close. There is no parole in the federal system.
