Waterloo Schools were briefly placed on lockdown Monday. The school district worked with Waterloo Police to perform a community threat assessment. The lockdown was described as a “precautionary measure” and an “exterior lockdown” meaning school proceeded as usual but nobody was allowed into the buildings. The lockdown was lifted in time for the regular dismissal schedule to be followed and all after school activities went on as planned. No other details regarding what led to the lockdown were released.
