The Bremer County Highway Department has provided an update on the work on the C50 Bridge. They say if the project is not completed due to the onset of winter weather, they will not keep C50 closed all Winter. In that case they intend to maintain the bridge with temporary rock approaches and some additional safety precautions in place. The bridge would then be closed again next spring or summer to allow for the completion of the project. The contractor plans to finish the approach grading this week with the paving crew due to be on site on Monday to begin their work. There will be some additional prep work needed due to the cold weather so the paving portion will take longer than normal.
