A Charles City man has been sent to federal prison after being found with pounds of methamphetamine, according to KIMT. 46 year old Jeremy Scott was a passenger in a van pulled over on Interstate 35 in Cerro Gordo County on June 6th. Law enforcement had received a tip that Scott was traveling from California to Iowa with multiple pounds of meth in the vehicle. A search of the van Scott was in found four pounds of meth inside a Rice Krispies box. Scott told law enforcement it all belonged to him. He has now been sentenced to seven years and six months in federal prison. Once he is released from prison he will have to serve four years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
