A drug drop box will soon be installed at City Hall in Fairbank as part of a partnership with the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department. The sheriff’s department received an Opioid grant which allowed them to purchase the drop box. It will be placed at City Hall near the Police Department. Any unwanted drugs, including illegal drugs, can be placed in the drop box, which will be available 24/7. The drugs do not need to be in their original containers and labels do not need to be removed as everything will be incinerated. They do ask that needles, sharps, glass, liquids, inhalers, gauze, and other non-drug related items not be placed in the drop box.
