The Iowa Court of Appeals has upheld the City of Cedar Falls’ decision to have a dog euthanized because of its history of biting government workers, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The City ordered that Reese, an American Bully owned by LyAnn and Christopher Western, be put down after it bit four people. First, Reese bit a postal carrier’s hand in 2021. Reese then bit a police officer in January of 2022. A few months later Reese bit another police officer who was returning another dog to the family. Finally, another city employee was bit in the forearm by Reese leading to Reese being put down.
