The Waverly Police Department says they have received a couple calls recently reporting scammers pretending to be from MidAmerican. The police say that legitimate companies will never ask you to pay for their services by going to Walmart to purchase gift cards to pay a debt owed. They also suggest always using trusted, secure methods of payment and if you are unsure, feel free to call the police non emergency number for assistance.
