The Janesville Police Department’s K9 officer, Indy, will soon receive body armor. The bullet and stab protective vest will come as charitable donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s and was sponsored by Gary King of Knoxville, Tennessee. The vest has a value of $1,800 and weighs between four and five pounds. This vest will be embroidered with “This gift of protection provided by the King Family”. Indy is expected to receive its protective vest within the next 10 weeks.
