Citations for Selling Tobacco to Minors

Three cashiers have been cited for selling tobacco and nicotine to underage customers as part of a sting program sponsored by the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. As part of the I-PLEDGE program, underage undercover customers attempt to buy tobacco and nicotine products. Three cashiers sold those products to those customers. Muhammed Tariq of Posh Tobacco and Vape, Paris Wilder of Casey’s on First St, and Sadie Hussie of King Star Mart were all cited. The penalties for selling nicotine and vape products to a minor include a $135 fine for first offense, a $325 fine for second offense, and a $645 fine for third and subsequent offenses.
