The City of Cedar Falls is launching its Adopt a Spot Program. The program invites community members to become a caretaker ofa park, green space, or trail. Participants will regularly collect litter, notify City staff when garbage bags need to be collected, report any maintenance needs or vandalism to City staff, and track their volunteer hours. The City will provide garbage bags, disposable gloves, and will collect bagged litter from the location. After a year of service, the City wil publicly recognize the participating group, business, or individual with an Adopt-A-Spot sign near the adopted area. A Certificate of Appreciation will also be presented. The City believes this program will strengthen the relationship between the city and its citizens while maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive place to live and visit.
