Teen Charged with Using AR-15 in Waterloo Shooting

A teenager has been charged in the connection with a shooting in Waterloo on Sunday night, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. A 15 year old boy has been charged with Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, Going Armed, Intimidation with a Weapon and Use of a Weapon in a Crime. The boy allegedly fired an AR-15 outside 1724 Mulberry Street at around 11:00 p.m. Sunday. Other guns were also fired in the shooting. 20 year old A’tarion Spates was killed in the shooting, however the 15 year old has not been charged in his death. The teen has been charged because one of the rounds he allegedly fired traveled a block away and hit a woman in the leg who was on her porch. The teen has been released to Juvenile Court Services.
