Cedar Falls Parting Ways with City Administrator

The Cedar Falls City Council has voted to authorize the voluntary separation agreement with city administrator Ron Gaines, according to KCRG. The separation agreement was offered to Gaines in June and signed the document on July 7th. As part of the agreement Gaines will receive more than $230,000 and will keep his health insurance benefits through the end of the year. Gaines had been accused of using harsh language with some citizens and a petition was started to force him out of his position. At the same meeting the council also appointed Jennifer Rodenbeck to acting city administrator while the city searches for a replacement.
