Monday the automated red-light cameras in Waverly will begin to issue warnings to those who run red lights. Only warnings will be given from Monday until September 3rd. The cameras are located at 4th Street and West Bremer Avenue, 4th Street and 10th Avenue/Cedar River Parkway and 4th Street and the Walmart/Kwik Star intersection.
Some have asked if the red-light cameras were put up to address the city’s budget crunch. Waverly Police Department captain Cory Stephens said that is not the case.
After the warning period fines will be not go against your driving record because they are civil fines.
