Restaurant Fire

Waterloo firefighters were called to a fire at a restaurant Monday morning, according to KWWL. Crews arrived at the Balkan Cafe at the intersection of Highway 218 and Williston Avenue to find smoke billowing from the building. Officials were able to determine that the smoke originated from a grease fire on top of the stove. They were able to contain the fire to the stove area. The restaurant was closed at the time and no injuries were reported. Two nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution.
