Woman Recaptured After Escaping

A woman serving time for Manslaughter has been recaptured after escaping from a halfway house, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 20 year old Danielle Otterson was placed on work release on August 31st and assigned to the Women’s Center for Change in Waterloo. On October 20th she signed out to go to work but never returned. She was initially convicted of Involuntary Manslaughter and Possession of a Short Barreled Shotgun after Joseph Quail was killed in his home in Waterloo in January of 2024. Otterson was sentenced to up to five years in prison in December. She has now been charged with Voluntary Absence.
