Black Hawk County has named three snowplows through the recently wrapped up “Name a BHC Snowplow” contest. The contest kicked off in November and received more than 200 name submissions from the public. BHC Road Department staff then voted internally to narrow the list to 15 finalist names, which were then released for public voting on December 1st. The winning names are Truck Norris, submitted by Robert Craft of Waterloo, Plow Patrol, submitted by Madison Gardner of Waverly, and Plowabunga, submitted by Ramona Roskop of Cedar Rapids. The contest winners will receive an official “I Named a BHC Snowplow” t-shirt and their choice of 4 VIP tickets to the Hartman Reserve Maple Syrup Festival, a one night stay in a modern cabin at Hickory Hills or Big Woods Lake, or a two night stay in a rustic cabin at Hickory Hills or Big Woods Lake.
