A Waterloo man was taken into custody by a Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy for failing to pay child support. On Thursday morning around 7:20 a call came into the sheriff’s office reporting a safety concern as two men in dark clothing were walking outside Maynard and attempting to wave down cars. When the deputy caught up with them they asked for a ride to a residence in Maynard. During this time it was determined that one of the men, 30 year old Brian Knecht, had a warrant out for his arrest out of Appanoose County for failing to pay child support. He was taken to the Fayette County Jail where he is being held on a $1,000 cash only bond.
