A Waterloo woman has been sentenced for buying her 14 year old grandson three firearms, according to KCRG. 64 year old Virginia Prescott pleaded guilty in July to Making a False Statement During the Purchase of a Firearm. She bought three guns between March and August of 2024 for her grandson. All three guns would eventually be used in criminal activity, including a shots fired incident in August of 2024. Prescott told police that she bought the guns because her grandson had threatened to destroy her property and kill her dog if she did not buy them. The 14 year old grandson was on state probation at the time of the purchases. Prescott has now been sentenced to five years of probation.
