One person has died after a standoff in Cedar Falls Tuesday afternoon, according to KWWL. Police were called to a mobile home near West Ridgeway Avenue and Highway 58 on a report of an assault, possibly involving a child. When they arrived on scene shortly after 1:00 p.m. the suspect allegedly fled inside the home with a gun and barricaded himself. Police surrounded the home and after several contacts made the decision to enter the home. Police allegedly found the man dead of what they say was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation is ongoing at this time. The man’s name has not been released.
