Buchanan County is among five counties that have been issued a disaster proclamation by Governor Kim Reynolds, according to KCRG. The proclamation was issued after severe storms rolled through the state earlier in the week. It authorizes state resources to be used and activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and the Disaster Case Advocacy Program. The proclamation will remain in effect for 30 days. The other counties involved are Clay, Henry, Palo Alto, and Plymouth.
