US Senator Chuck Grassley, of New Hartford, announced on Twitter Monday that he had a gallstone removal procedure over the weekend. He said in his post that he is grateful for the excellent care from local health care providers. He also promised to be back at the capitol as soon as possible. His media team went on to say that he is in good spirits and looks forward to returning to Washington D.C. The 92 year old Grassley is the oldest senator currently in office and the sixth longest serving senator in US history.
