Three Iowa National Guard soldiers from the Waverly area are returning from deployment. Nick Reily and Keaton Boyle will return Thursday. There will be a welcome home ceremony in Cedar Rapids at 2:00. Following that around 3:45 the Waverly Police Department will escort them into town from the east on Highway 3. The Waverly Area Veterans Post is asking supporters to congregate near Four Queens in Waverly to welcome them with signs, flags and streamers.
Keaton Boyle’s father Don spoke about how the community has cared for Keaton’s wife Emily while he was in Syria.
On Friday Stephen Glynn will return home. The timing of his return to Waverly is not finalized yet, but follow the Waverly Area Veterans Post on Facebook to find that information once it is known.
