A crash between a tractor and a semi near Waucoma closed White Tail Road for a time on Monday. A tractor hauling a planter driven by 40 year old Adam Kleiss of Fredericksburg was attempting to turn left onto a gravel road when he collided with a semi driven by 61 year old Bryan Varney of Dows, who was attempting to pass multiple farm vehicles at the same time. Kleiss wound up in the south ditch. His tractor was deemed a total loss while the planter suffered $1,500 in damage. Varney first went into the north ditch before crossing the road and entering the south ditch with his trailer blocking both lanes of traffic. Neither driver was injured in the crash. Varney was cited for Unsafe Passing.
