A Rock Island, Illinois man has been sentenced for stealing 15 guns from a Waterloo home, according to KCRG. 29 year old Justin Barnes pleaded guilty in November to Possession of Stolen Firearms and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Barnes and his then girlfriend Jena Wells, stole the guns from an unoccupied home in June of 2024. Barnes then tried to sell the guns. During a traffic stop on June 10th of 2024 police found several of the guns in Barnes’ backpack. He has previously been convicted of six felonies in Iowa including thefts, forgeries, and gun offenses. He has been sentenced to eight years in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release.
