The Grout Museum District in Waterloo has announced that they will be laying off a portion of their staff as part of what they are calling an organizational restructuring. The layoffs went into effect yesterday. The museum district did not release how many employees would be effected. They say the decision was made after a thorough review of the Museum District’s strategic direction. They expect the restructuring to position the organization to operate more sustainably and to share the history and scientific heritage of our region in more current and compelling ways. The laid off employees will receive resume assistance and career counseling.
