Saturday from 9:00 to noon at the Bremer County Courthouse in Waverly there will be a family event to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. The event called “250th Flag Day for Families” features programs on respect for the flag, a simplified explanation of the Declaration of Independence, information for children on how to vote and a presentation from the Cedar River Readers Theatre.
Organizer Bob Brunkhorst says families will also receive a special surprise.
It is a come and go as you please event.
