A Waterloo teen has been arrested after allegedly being found in possession of a firearm while prohibited from doing so, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Police conducted a search of 135 Mission Circle at around 5:00 a.m. Friday. As they were approaching 17 year old Jayvon Rhodes ran from the residence. He was tracked down to a nearby field where he was arrested. Along the way, police say he discarded a loaded handgun. Rhodes was prohibited from possessing guns after juvenile court conviction for Intimidation with a Weapon for shooting into an apartment in 2024. He has now been charged as an adult with Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The search was part of an investigation into multiple shootings.
