The Cedar River in Charles City is expected to crest Friday at 17.8 feet, just below major flood stage. Several streets in Charles City are likely being impacted by flood waters at this time.
The Cedar River at Janesville is currently well below flood stage but is expected to crest at around 1:00 p.m. Saturday at 13 feet, at which point West 3rd Street will be affected by flood waters and may result in an evacuation of the trailer court. Water may also affect much of the Janesville city park and nearby gravel roads.
The Cedar River at Cedar Falls is also currently below flood stage but is expected to crest on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 at 91.8 feet, just below moderate flood stage. Lake Street, Big Woods Road south of Dunkerton Road, Riverside Drive south of Beech Street, Cottage Row Road will be affected as will Island Park, Tourist Park, and George Wyth State Park.
The Shell Rock River at Shell Rock will crest midday Friday at 12.6 feet. The low lying area of South Prairie Street will be closed and basements near the river may get some water.
