The City of Denver is reminding its citizens that poultry, including chickens, are not allowed within city limits. The Board of Adjustment decided on September 24th of 2024 that poultry was no longer allowed within city limits unless specifically stated in the zoning district. Those with chickens, ducks, or other fowl need to remove them by August 1st or face the city removing the animals and assessing related costs to the property owner along with a municipal infraction.
The City of Denver is also reminding its citizens not to mow their grass into the street. The City says those grass clippings clog the storm sewer drains. They also point out that it is considered littering according to a city ordinance.
