Police Shot and Killed Dog Involved in Fight

Waterloo Police shot and killed a dog Wednesday after it allegedly attacked its owner and another dog, according to KWWL. Police were called to a home near 4th and Locust Streets after a large dog and a small dog began to fight. The owners of the dogs tried to break up the fight but the large dog was too aggressive. When police arrived on scene they also tried to break up the fight but found the large dog too aggressive and they say they were forced to shoot the dog. Both owners were injured as they tried to break up the fight. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. Police say the large dog will be tested for rabies because of its aggressive behavior. No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed.
