Man Guilty of High Speed Chase

A jury has found a Waterloo man guilty of leading law enforcement on a chase that reached speeds of more than 100 mph with the man’s 7 year old daughter in the car, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 29 year old Andre Adams Jr. was found guilty of felony Eluding, Child Endangerment, and Driving While License Barred. His attorney had argued in court that there was no way of knowing who was driving the car because it was initially signaled by an Iowa State Patrol airplane who could not see the driver, law enforcement on the ground never got close enough to see who was driving, and Adams and his daughter were found in a park, not with the car, which was found abandoned after escaping the chase. The prosecution produced security camera footage showing a person wearing the same clothes as Adams getting out of the car. Adams remains free as he awaits sentencing.
