The Waterloo Airport will be temporarily closed beginning next week. The closure is expected to last from September 8th through the 22nd so that critical runway construction and essential infrastructure improvements can be made. While the airport is closed, contractors will perform rehabilitation work on the airport’s runway system to extend pavement life and ensure continued compliance with Federal Aviation Administration standards. Commercial air service operated by American Airlines will be suspended during this time. Any passengers with scheduled flights during this time period should contact their airline directly. The construction is weather dependent but the airport anticipates resuming normal operations on September 23rd.
