The Michigan man who abducted a 12 year old Waterloo girl triggering an Amber Alert in April has been found guilty on several charges, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 23 year old Daniyal Khan of Ann Arbor, Michigan began talking with the 12 year old on social media earlier this year. Then, in April, he drove to Waterloo, picked her up, and drove back to Michigan. The girl was found safe there and Khan was taken into custody. He was found guilty of Child Stealing With a Sexual Motive, Grooming, Enticing a Person Under the Age of 13, Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and Indecent Contact With a Child. Jurors opted for the lesser charge of False Imprisonment instead of the most serious charge Khan faced, second degree Kidnapping. Khan said he thought the girl was 20, despite discussing with investigators that she had told him she was 12. He also argued he was saving her from an abusive situation. Khan will be sentenced at a later date.
